Interview with Rachel Valdés about the installation “The Beginning of the End” located in Times Square in New York in 2016.

The challenge was to create an installation for a vast and visually striking space. To achieve this, the artist created a simple, minimalist space that resulted in a visually complex effect. A corridor of mirrors, like a kaleidoscope, offers the viewer another perspective of the same landscape of which it is a part.

“Everyone will perceive it differently, but everything is valid. That’s the goal, to try to connect people with something that takes them out of reality for a while but at the same time is very much within it.”
